Mock Open House Presentation
For my Integrating Technology into the Classroom course, I created a powerpoint that would be shown at an Open House to parents and guardians. I have also timed the slides and recorded my voice in the background so that anyone who was not able to attend the hypothetical Open House would be able to learn about myself, the classroom, and the school, class, and Common Core objectives.

Literacy Picture Book
One of the assignments for my Creative Arts in the Elementary and Early Childhood Classroom course was to create a personal project. There were very few guidelines so I did a lot of thinking before realizing that I wanted to create something that I would be able to use both at summer camp and in a classroom. Because of my thesis research on how song-based picture books promote literacy, I decided to illustrate my own picture book to go along with my favorite camp song! The repetition of the song helps students to work on pronunciation and the illustrations add meaning. Plus, a song is much more memorable than memorizing facts. I used the Picturing Writing method to paint watercolor sheets that I then cut into shapes and collaged to create the illustrations.
Here are just a few of the projects I have created and research I have done in the field of Education....
Clase de Español Mock Assessment
My Classroom Assessment course required a creative assessment so I created one as if I were a middle school Spanish teacher. It is a quiz that includes multiple different types of questions about Spanish basics that would have been taught in class during the first unit.
Thesis: Integrating Music into ESL Programs
As a second language learner myself, I have always been interested in how we best learn a language. After teaching English while abroad in Madrid, I became fascinated with the different methods through which English as a Second Language can be taught. Here is my thesis research thus far:

Sochi Olympics
During my internship at BCS, I was able to create my own mini-lesson to teach the class about the Winter Olympics that was about to begin. My lesson included pictures of each winter sport so that they could match what they thought each sport was called and then we talked about how to play. Afterwards, they colored and filled out a worksheet on what they had learned about the Olympics!

Classroom Management Plan
The final exam for my Strategies of Teaching Elementary School course is a Classroom Management Plan which simulates if I were to have my own classroom. It lays out my plans before the first day of school, the first day, managing the curriculum, and maintaining classroom behavior and relations.

Music Therapy Intervention
This year I decided to take a Music and Creative Arts Therapy course because the whole concept of using the arts as a form of therapy is fascinating to me. Again, I decided to use my favorite camp song in a classroom situation to promote literacy through a different activity. This time, it is a repeat-after-me-song sung in class as both an educational opportunity and a "brain break."
Plant Life Cycle Lesson
The last assignment for my Junior Transitions course, a course meant to prepare Education students for student teaching/internship next semester, was to create a lesson plan. I decided to create a science lesson for a 2nd grade level about the plant life cycle that integrated many ELA standards as well as valuable math skills.
